Physical Therapy is a "hands-on" approach to treat & help prevent problems that arise in the musculo-skeletal system due to injury or stress.
Physical Therapy offers a system of assessment and treatment based on the health sciences which utilises the skilful integration of a wide variety of advanced soft tissue approaches and modalities to create change in the soft tissues and joints of the body thus restoring balance, optimum alignment and pain-free function.
Physical Therapy is a hands-on, drug-free healthcare and is particularly suited to sports persons at all levels in injury prevention and treatment as part of performance enhancement and training. It is also widely used in the treatment of general musculoskeletal disorders, such as back/neck pain, whiplash, tension headaches etc.
As a Registered Physical Therapist I am committed to a patient-centred approach, working with the patient to provide pain relief and to facilitate his / her return to optimum function.
Physical Therapy treatments carried out by the I.A.P.T. members are recognised by the principal health insurance providers including: VHI; Quinn Healthcare; Hibernian Aviva Health and Garda Medical Aid Society.
Carolyn McGovern has been working as a fully qualified Physical Therapist since 2005 and is registered with the Irish Association of Physical Therapy.
